Wokha Football Team registers a disappointing loss against Dimapur

Dimapur 6: 1 Wokha

 

The first football match of the Nagaland Olympics began with a devastating loss for Wokha as Kivi Zhimomi for Dimapur stole the show.
Just three minutes into the game, Wokha defense made an absolute shamble, making Aloumi for Dimapur find the back of the net from a brilliant cross.
With Dimapur completely dominating the ball possession, Wokha defense looked utterly lost in the game with fans saying they remind them of the “Manchester United”.

 

As Wokha failed to put up a strong mid and a defense, Kivi Zhimomi, in the 16th minute struck another beautiful goal making it 2:0

Later, Ratobe for Dimapur netted another beautiful goal from outside the d-box in the 22nd minute making it 3:0.

The Wokha defense were at their absolute worst as they failed to mark the runners in the flanks and the Dimapur playmakers made their back easily get violated.

After the second half, once again Ratobe scored his brace after slicing the Wokha defense as the goalkeeper made a very poor attempt, making it 4:0

Kivi scored his second goal from an assist from Toka in the 46th minute against a poor Wokha defense making it 5:0

Finally, Kivi scored his hat trick in the 52nd minute as the Wokha players gave up.

In the last minute, Wokha scored a consolation goal from a long shot by Zuben.

 

 

Peren gets an easy win against Zunheboto

Peren 4: 0 Zunheboto

 

Peren began a slow and nervous game against a Zunheboto that displayed some beautiful game in the first 15 minutes until the 22nd minute when Khamjai found the back of the net to draw first blood.

Zunheboto continued playing some beautiful passes but they lacked a decent play maker that they failed to break through a well-guarded Peren back.

Peren in the 28th minute once again created result from the boots of Siarau making it 2:0

The second half saw an attacking Peren side that moved past the Zunheboto side with ease, completely dominating in possession.

The third goal from Peren in the 44th minute by Hangsing was an absolute delight as the Zunheboto defense continued to miss chances after chances.

The last goal of the game came from the boots of Punyu for Peren.

 

Shamator stun Mon

Shamator 3: 2 Mon

 

In the third match of the day, Shamator came back from a goal down to beat Mon district 3-2.

Playing his first game in the Nagaland Olympics and Paralympic Games 2022 for Shamator team, Olando Naga guided his team to a huge victory. Borakum scored all three goals for the Shamator team to take home all three points from the game.

 

 

Kohima ease past Tuensang

Kohima 7:0 Tuensang

 

In the last match, Kohima inflicted a humiliating defeat on Tuensang as they registered an emphatic win with the score line 7-0. Kezieo scored the first goal of the game in the very first minute itself, which was followed by a quick-fire brace from the boots of Tsira in the 6th and 7th minutes. Rutsa scored the 4th goal for Kohima in the 27th minute and the score remained 4-0 in favour of Kohima at halftime. Rutsa once again found the back of the net in the 36th minute while Gideon scored another one in the 60th minute to wrap things up for Kohima.

The league stages are played in the 60 minutes format. Despite being dubbed a mega event, almost all districts in the current edition are fielding youngsters in their teams.
