The Nagaland Pencak Silat Association has congratulated two athletes from the state for their achievements at the All India Inter University Pencak Silat Championship 2026 held at Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab from March 15 to 17.
Avikali V Sheqi secured a gold medal in Tanding (sparring) and a bronze medal in Regu (artistic event) while representing Chandigarh University. Hatneinem Khongsai also delivered an impressive performance, winning a gold medal in Tanding while representing Jadavpur University, West Bengal.
In a statement, the association said the athletes’ performances have brought pride and honor to Nagaland and the Pencak Silat fraternity. It acknowledged their dedication and effort in achieving success at the national level.
The association extended its best wishes to both athletes for continued success in the future.
