Diesel and petrol prices in Nagaland will be increased following the state government’s revision of sales tax rates to 21.75 percent for petrol and 17.20 percent for diesel. These new prices will take effect from midnight on June 30.
According to an official notification issued by Additional Chief Secretary & Finance Commissioner Sentiyanger Imchen, the revised tax rate for diesel is now 17.20 percent or Rs 12.83 per litre, whichever is higher, up from the previous 16.5 percent or Rs 10.51 per litre, whichever is higher.
For petrol and other motor spirits, the tax rate has been adjusted to 21.75 percent or Rs 16.94 per litre, whichever is higher, from the previous rate of 25 percent or Rs 16.04 per litre, whichever is higher.
The notification also revokes previous notifications regarding surcharge, road maintenance cess, and rebates on diesel and petrol dated November 16, 2004, February 14, 2020, and November 4, 2021, respectively.
