The Nagaland Police has issued a clarification regarding the selection process for the Written Test and Viva-Voce under the Nagaland Police Constable (GD) Recruitment 2025.

According to an official press release, the clarification is issued in reference to the recruitment advertisement dated 30 September 2025, specifically the terms and conditions mentioned at Serial Number 6(B), Note (1) and (2).

The police stated that only candidates who successfully qualify the Physical/Medical Standard Test (PMST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be considered for selection to appear in the Written Test. The selection for the Written Test will be made in a 1:10 ratio against the number of posts allotted under the approved Tribal Ratio formula.

Explaining the process with an example, the release noted that if a district is allotted 150 posts—100 for males and 50 for females—the shortlist for the Written Test would include:
• 1,000 male candidates (100 × 10)
• 500 female candidates (50 × 10)

The police further clarified that candidates may be shortlisted in excess of the 1:10 ratio in case of a tie in PET marks. However, it emphasized that not all candidates who qualify the PET will necessarily be eligible to appear for the Written Test.

Similarly, for the Viva-Voce, candidates will be shortlisted in a 1:3 ratio, as notified in the same advertisement. Using the same example of 150 posts:
• 300 male candidates (100 × 3)
• 150 female candidates (50 × 3)

The release reiterated that qualifying the Written Test does not automatically guarantee selection for the Viva-Voce, as the prescribed ratio will strictly apply.

The clarification has been issued by the Nagaland Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the information of all recruitment aspirants.
