In view of Government Notification regarding measures to tackle the illegal collection of money from vehicles at Check Gates and other locations in the State, PHQ has set up a dedicated 24×7 Control Room for Combating Illegal Collection of Money manned by sufficient personnel and headed by a senior Police officer to combat illegal collection of money from vehicles at Check Gates and other locations in the State.
Besides the existing general helpline number of 112, it was informed that the following dedicated mobile numbers and email ID have been placed in the Control Room for receiving any complaints or information regarding the illegal collection of money from vehicles at any check gate or any other location in the State or the presence of any unauthorized persons at the Check Gates: (i) 8798881978, (ii) 8798881979, and (iii) email ID – PCRillegalcollection@gmail.com.
The general public may also contact the Nagaland Police officers whose CUG (Closed User Group) mobile numbers are available in the ‘Call Your Cop’ mobile App which can be downloaded from the ‘Play Store’. The information can be shared with Nagaland Police via Voice call, WhatsApp, text message, E-mail, and so on.
Nagaland Police has encouraged the general public to combat the menace jointly by providing specific information accompanied by photographic and video-graphic evidence regarding the illegal collection of money from vehicles at any check gate or any other location in the State or the presence of any unauthorized persons at the Check Gates. The confidentiality of all persons reporting such complaints shall be maintained, if so desired, it was informed.
Corrigendum
With regard to the news item published in the dailies dated 23rd May 2022 relating to closing down of check gates at Tsutapela under Mangkolemba Sub division Mokokchung district by the inspection team, the news item should be read as ” the team after spot verification has closed down the check gates set up by the Department of Geology and Mining, Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry and Excise department” and not as published.
Error is deeply regretted and all concerned are requested to comprehend the human error.
