The Nagaland Police have approached the state government for a policy decision on centralising oral interviews for the ongoing 2026 constable recruitment, Director General of Police (DGP) Rupin Sharma said on Thursday.
The move comes in response to concerns raised by the Eastern Nagaland Legislators’ Union (ENLU) and the Konyak Union over the feasibility and fairness of holding all interviews at Dimapur. Candidates from remote districts could face difficulties due to limited accommodation, poor connectivity, and additional travel costs.
Sharma said the police have formally sought government guidance on the matter. He also confirmed ongoing investigations into impersonation incidents in the recruitment, stating that both the impersonator and the candidate involved will face disqualification and prosecution.
The DGP added that further updates on recruitment results and the impersonation cases will be shared once final decisions are made.
