In line with the Nagaland State Government’s ongoing “War against Drugs,” the Narcotic Police Station at Police Headquarters (PHQ), in collaboration with various police stations across the state, has made significant narcotic and psychotropic substance seizures. Between July and September 2024, drugs worth Rs 30.05 crore were confiscated.

During this period, the Narcotic Police Station registered four cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Additionally, four cases were handed over or registered at Khuzama Police Station in Kohima and Medziphema Police Station in Chumoukedima. These operations resulted in the arrest of 23 individuals—17 men and 6 women.

Nagaland Police also provided crucial assistance to Karnataka Police, aiding in the interception of large drug consignments and arresting wanted drug smugglers. These consignments, trafficked by air from Manipur to Karnataka, were successfully stopped, and a major smuggling network was dismantled.
