Kohima, February 10 (MTNews): The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland in a press conference at Hotel De Oriental Grand, Kohima on February 10 informed that a lot of efforts are being made by the enforcement agencies, the Central as well as the State, to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the General Elections to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly 2023.
The CEO stated that the total number of candidates nominated stood at 225, out of which 200 were found to be valid nominations while 25 were rejected.

 

A total of 16 candidates have withdrawn on the last day of withdrawal of candidature i.e. February 10.

 

Therefore, the total number of candidates stands at 184, with one candidate uncontested from 31-Akuluto AC. The other 183 candidates will now contest for the election to be held on February 27.
