The Office of the Commissioner, Nagaland, has submitted a proposal to the Home Commissioner seeking clearance to recruit 120 Lower Division Assistant (LDA)-cum Computer Assistants under the District Administration.

The letter notes that the current shortage of staff has led to an acute manpower deficit in district offices, hampering the smooth functioning of administrative work.

According to the proposal, the recruitment would be conducted through the District Level Recruitment Board (DLRB), as posts under the District Administration are exempted from the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) under the NSSB Regulation, 2020 Schedule-A. The Commissioner’s Office cited a P&AR Office Memorandum dated September 26, 2022, while forwarding the proposal.

The vacancies are spread across the state, with Mokokchung having the highest number at 23 posts, followed by Mon (11), Zunheboto (10), and Wokha and Kohima (8 each). Tuensang has 7, Phek (6), Kiphire (5), Longleng (2), and Peren (5). Shamator has 3, Niuland (7), Noklak (6), Tseminyu (5), Chümoukedima (7), Meluri (1), Pughoboto (5), and Dimapur (1) – bringing the total to 120 posts.

The proposal is currently under review by the Home Commissioner and now awaits final clearance from the Personnel & Administrative Reforms (P&AR) and Finance Departments before any recruitment process can begin.
