Nagaland is set to strengthen its digital governance infrastructure as Advisor for IT & Communication, Economics & Statistics and Evaluation, H. Sethrongkyu Sangtam, met with Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY), Government of India, S. Krishnan IAS, on 7th December at Hotel Vivor, Kohima.

The meeting focused on advancing the State’s digital transformation, reviewing ongoing initiatives, and addressing challenges in delivering technology-driven governance.

Sangtam highlighted several flagship projects aimed at building a future-ready IT ecosystem: an AI-powered State Data Centre to host critical government applications; a State Cyber Security Operations Centre (SC-SOC) for enhanced monitoring and incident response; and NagaChain, a blockchain-based identity ledger to ensure secure and immutable digital identities for citizens.
“These initiatives will not only improve governance but also empower citizens with secure and efficient digital services,” Sangtam said.

Secretary Krishnan commended the State Government’s proactive approach, noting that the projects aligned with national priorities in cybersecurity, data governance, and inclusive digital identity frameworks. He emphasized the importance of continued State-Centre collaboration to ensure the success of these transformative programs.

He further assured support in strengthening Nagaland’s IT infrastructure and advancing next-generation strategic technology initiatives.
