Mokokchung, September 3 (MTNews): According to a report submitted by National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) to the Supreme Court on ‘State-Wise Infrastructure Available For Domestic Violence Cases’, the Gauhati High Court (Nagaland) recorded the fewest cases, with a total of 27 original cases, 14 disposed of, and 13 still pending. This was revealed in the case of ‘We the Women of India vs. Union of India and Others’, in which We the Women of India, an NGO, approached the Supreme Court in November 2021, bringing the entire infrastructure under the ‘Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act’ throughout the country under scrutiny.

According to the report, the most cases have been filed in Uttar Pradesh, with Bombay High Court (Maharashtra) coming in second with a total of 196717 Original cases, 115384 Disposed cases, and 84637 Still Pending Cases. The third-place Kerala High Court (Kerala) has 95267 Original cases, 74129 of which have been resolved, and 21138 of which are still pending.
