Nagaland made an impressive start in the men’s football competition of the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026, securing wins over Sikkim and Assam at the Golden Jubilee Stadium in Yupia, Arunachal Pradesh.
In the opening match, Nagaland defeated Sikkim 4-0. Yhoto scored a hat trick, while Ayenmongba added one goal.
In the second fixture, Nagaland edged past Assam 3-2 after a strong second half performance. Kikru scored twice, and Yhoto contributed one goal to seal the victory.
After two consecutive wins, Nagaland will next face host state Arunachal Pradesh in its final league match on February 24.
