In a fiercely competitive and exciting match, the Nagaland football team drew 4-4 with Manipur in the latest fixture of the Junior Boys’ National Football Championship. Nagaland held a narrow lead of 4-3 until the final moments of the game, but Manipur managed to equalize just seconds before the final whistle.

“Our boys showed no technical or tactical difference against the football-producing state of Manipur. We dominated the game throughout the 90 minutes, but it was just luck that did not allow us to win,” Assistant Coach Kechi told MT.

Nagaland’s performance in the tournament so far includes one win and two draws from three matches. The team is set to play its final round match against Andaman and Nicobar. A victory for Nagaland in this match, coupled with a win for Lakshadweep against Manipur, will secure a spot in the semi-finals for Nagaland.

The first goal was scored by Moamanen in the 26th minute, followed by a penalty converted by Napan in the 48th minute. Nagaland striker Ayhunlo netted the third goal in the 61st minute, and Viselie Vasa added the fourth goal in the 77th minute.
