The 10th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Conference, held at Parliament House, New Delhi, from 23rd September, successfully concluded today, 24th September 2024. The conference brought together the Presiding Officers and Secretaries of all the State Legislatures in India. The Inaugural Address was delivered by Om Birla, Speaker of the Lok Sabha.
In a significant achievement for the State of Nagaland, the Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly has been selected as a Member of the Executive Committee of CPA India Region. The Executive Committee comprises 6 or 7 members chosen from among the Speakers of India, headed by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha.
Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker, and S. Toiho Yeptho, Deputy Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, along with Khruohituonuo Rio, Secretary-In-Charge of the NLA, attended the conference.
