The Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Ltd. opened its 23rd Branch at Shamakok Complex, PPC Ward, in Longleng on 29 May 2024, with Deputy Commissioner Longleng, Dharam Raj, IAS, as the special guest.
Deputy Commissioner Dharam Raj, in his address, said the Nagaland State Cooperative Bank is the people’s bank, as its prime motive is to help people financially and not for profit. He stated that only with financial inclusion will development happen.
The Deputy Commissioner mentioned that the bank will follow all guidelines but will have some flexibility, unlike other banks. He added that the Nagaland State Cooperative Bank will provide better services and loans with better interest rates and called upon citizens to make the best use of the opportunity.
In his keynote, General Manager of the Nagaland State Cooperative Bank, Jonah Sema, highlighted various schemes and initiatives launched by the Bank. He said that the 23rd Branch of the Nagaland State Cooperative Bank, located at the heart of Longleng town, represents not just a structure but also hope for financial empowerment and progress for the vibrant community of Longleng town. He expressed gratitude to all individuals who had worked tirelessly to make this dream a reality.
Short speeches were delivered by Vice Chairman of NStCB, H. Kashito Yepthomi; President of Phom People’s Council (PPC), YB Angam Phom; President of Village Council Chairman & Village Development Board Association, District Longleng, C Ngampu Phom; and Director of Hope Channel (NGO), Tiakala Amri. The program was chaired by Assistant General Manager of NStCB, Mhathung Khuvung. ARCS Longleng, Atongba, delivered the vote of thanks, and a dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Executive Secretary of Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA), N Tialemba Phom.
