The Fourth Nagaland State Finance Commission, led by Chairperson Sarah R. Ritse, Retired Commissioner & Secretary of the Government of Nagaland, conducted a review meeting with the District Administration, Town Councils, Public Leaders, Ward Chairmen, and representatives from key government departments including PWD, PHED, and Power, at the DBs Hall in Shamator.

The meeting, chaired by Sarah Ritse, focused on reviewing the status of urban development in the district. Deputy Commissioner of Shamator, Chubatemjen, welcomed the commission officials and presented the district’s urban status report. Following this, representatives from various sectors were invited to raise their concerns and agendas.

Ward presidents of Shamator highlighted pressing issues affecting the general public, including water scarcity, poor road conditions, and frequent landslides. The Shamator Public Forum representatives also proposed an increase in funding for the expansion of roads, culverts, and drainage systems to address the ongoing infrastructural challenges.

Representatives from the PHED, Power, and PWD departments shared updates on their ongoing projects and discussed the challenges they face in implementing various initiatives. The meeting served as an important platform to address local concerns and explore solutions for improving infrastructure and service delivery in Shamator.
