Mokokchung, 29 August (MTNews): Nagaland Minister for Power and Government Spokesperson KG Kenye said that the Nagaland government will pass a resolution in the upcoming Assembly session to “totally repeal the Forest (Conservation) Amendment Act.”

Kenye, however, said that the Forest (Conservation) Amendment Act will be discussed in detail during the consultative meeting convened by the state government on 1 September ahead of the assembly session. He also hinted that the assembly resolution would be against the principal Act itself and not only the latest Amendment. He also suggested that the proposed bill for a new Nagaland Municipal Act will be tabled in the upcoming assembly session.

He said this while speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a program in Kohima.
