Mokokchung, July 4 (MTNews): The distribution of the Nagaland State Merit Scholarship and Nagaland State Research Scholarship began today, Nagaland Minister of Higher Education & Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along tweeted today.
According to the tweet, 5433 students are on the merit list, which totals 8.8 crore INR, while 107 students will earn the research scholarship, which totals roughly 29.3 lac INR.
The Nagaland State Research Scholarship is intended specifically for students conducting research. Beneficiaries will get monetary prizes to perform research under this initiative. The Directorate of Higher Education Nagaland, Kohima, has released it.
The fellowship is open to Nagaland Research Scholars from the ST and Indigenous categories who are pursuing MPhil/PhD degrees at a recognized university in India.
The Nagaland State Merit Scholarship was created by the government to help students financially. This award has been made available to students planning to pursue post-matric studies. The Directorate of Higher Education Nagaland, Kohima, is in charge of implementing this scholarship program. Students who are chosen for the Nagaland State Merit Scholarship will get financial assistance. Students will be chosen on the basis of their merit.
The scholarship is eligible for Nagaland State ST and Indigenous students who received 1st Division with 80 percent or equivalent grade in HSLC/HSSLC and 70 percent in Degree Final exams and are studying in recognized Colleges/Universities inside India.
In order to extend the Merit Scholarship, a constant academic outcome or the requisite percentage of marks on a yearly basis must be maintained until the course is completed.
