Dimapur, March 2 (MTNews): A medical student from Nagaland, Olika Mlato, who was stranded in war torn Ukraine arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday in a special flight arranged by the Government of India. Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, while informing about her safe arrival in New Delhi, expressed gratitude to the Government of India and further requested the Centre to ensure the safe return of all Indian citizens and prayed for a “swift end to the conflict and peace to prevail”.

 

Deputy CM and Home Minister of Nagaland, Y. Patton also confirmed the safe arrival of “a daughter from Nagaland” in Delhi and expressed appreciation to the government of India led by the Prime Minister for leading the efforts under ‘Operation Ganga’ to bring back Indians stranded in Ukraine.

 

“While we wait for her return to Nagaland, all efforts are being made to ensure that she arrives home conveniently,” he further said.

 

He said that he is constantly monitoring the arrangements and that the government of Nagaland is putting in all effort to locate and bring back all the Nagas who are still awaiting evacuation.
It has been confirmed that two other students from Nagaland, Lanu Amenla Aier and Machi Yirakchang, who are pursuing medical studies in Ukraine are still stranded and waiting for a green signal from the Indian Embassy for evacuation.
