Late equalizer seals dramatic 2-2 draw between Longterok FC and 27 United FC

In the first match of the day played at the Chumoukedima Football Stadium, Longterok Football Club (LFC) and 27 United Football Club (27UFC) played out a dramatic 2-2 draw in. Both teams demonstrated high intensity, with LFC dominating early on, while 27UFC mounted a strong comeback in the second half.

The match began with Longterok FC in control, showcasing an aggressive approach right from the start. Their early dominance bore fruit in the 11th minute when Kakhevi Ashumi scored to give them the lead. The team continued to press, creating several opportunities. In the 26th minute, however, 27UFC found their rhythm and equalized through Manton K Wangshu. Longterok FC quickly regained the lead in the 36th minute with a goal from Ngangsang K Phom, taking the score to 2-1 at halftime.

In the second half, 27UFC made tactical adjustments and grew more dangerous, capitalizing on defensive lapses from Longterok FC. Their perseverance paid off in the dying moments of the match as Kunuzo Venyo scored in the 90+2’ minute to seal the dramatic 2-2 draw.

The Player of the Match was Namang Yimjong from Longterok FC, who played a pivotal role in both defense and attack, ensuring his team remained competitive throughout the contest.

Both teams showed resilience and attacking flair, with Longterok FC starting strong but allowing 27UFC to recover and secure a point. 27UFC, despite being behind, showcased their ability to adapt and fight back, earning a deserved draw.

Sechü Zubza FC and Nagaland United SC play out intense 1-1 draw

The highly anticipated clash between Sechü Zubza FC (SZFC) and Nagaland United SC (NUSC) ended in a hard-fought 1-1 draw, with both teams showcasing their strengths in contrasting halves. The match, held at IG Stadium in Kohima on Saturday, saw early dominance from NUSC, who broke the deadlock in the 34th minute with a goal from Nisede Peseyie. SZFC struggled to create clear-cut chances in the first half, relying on long passes from the left flank but failing to convert despite multiple corner opportunities. As the first half came to an end, NUSC held a 1-0 lead.

Sechü Zubza FC came out with renewed energy in the second half, focusing on possession and pressing higher up the field. Their persistence paid off in the 72nd minute when Kevizolie found the back of the net with a well-taken goal to level the score at 1-1. The match then became more intense, with frequent fouls and set-piece opportunities. Despite both teams pushing for a winner, neither side was able to break the deadlock in the final moments, and the match ended in a draw.

Red Scars FC and Frontier Warriors share the spoils after a 2-2 stalemate

The match between Red Scars Football Club (RSFC) and Frontier Warriors (FW) ended in a fiercely contested 2-2 draw, marking it as one of the most intense fixtures of the tournament. Both teams, desperate for their first win of the season, showcased determination and skill in a game filled with attacking opportunities and defensive resilience.

RSFC took the lead in the 27th minute through a well-taken goal by Yonu Richard Thaikho, but Frontier Warriors responded just minutes later in the 31st minute with Mughahuto Chishi leveling the score. The second half continued with high intensity, and Red Scars regained the lead in the 49th minute when Sentilong scored. However, Frontier Warriors showed their fighting spirit by equalizing once again in the 55th minute, courtesy of a powerful strike by Vinato Achumi. Despite both teams pushing for the winner with more attacking play, neither side managed to find the back of the net again, and the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

The Player of the Match, Rakeveiche from Red Scars FC, was instrumental in controlling the game, making key passes, and driving his team’s attacks forward.

Both teams showed improvements, with Red Scars managing two goals on the counter and demonstrating solid defense, while Frontier Warriors dominated possession, despite being unlucky with hitting the post twice and missing several other chances.
