Following the Supreme Court of India’s recent directive regarding the welfare of migrant workers, a five-day Mela will be organized at all District Civil Supply Offices in Nagaland from November 4 to 8, 2024. The initiative, jointly organized by the Department of Labour and the Department of Food & Civil Supplies, aims to issue ration cards to e-Shram portal registrants who have not yet received one.

The announcement follows the Supreme Court’s order passed on October 4, 2024, in Miscellaneous Application No. 94 of 2022 under Suo Moto Writ (C) No. 6 of 2020, addressing issues faced by migrant workers. This event offers an opportunity for all e-Shram registrants in Nagaland who have not yet received ration cards to secure essential support through the issuance process.

All e-Shram registrants who have not yet been issued ration cards are informed to avail themselves of this opportunity.
