Mokokchung, 12 September (MTNews): Nagaland State will compete in the 3rd 3×3 Senior National Basketball Championship for Men and Women to be held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai from 22-24 September 2023. The championship is organized by the Tamil Nadu Basketball Association under the aegis of Basketball Federation of India.
Sentiningsang Longkumer, Honorary Secretary, Nagaland Basketball Association informed in a press note received here that Nagaland State 3×3 Senior Men and Women basketball teams will participate in the national championships.
The top seven teams will qualify for the upcoming 37th National Games scheduled to be held in Goa. The Senior National Basketball Championship will be played in a round-robin format in the preliminary round followed by the knock-out phase.
Thejangulie Mekro will lead the men’s team and the women’s team will be led by Reena Rai. The teams are scheduled to leave for Chennai on 21 September.
Nagaland squad for Men’s team includes Thejangulie Mekro (C), Keneitseizo Belho, Keneilezo James Tale, and Rilise K Thonger. The Women’s team includes Reena Rai (C), Ravulo, Lelevino Kere, and Kevingutuo Terhuja.
