The Department of Economics and Statistics has notified the transition to 100 per cent online registration of births and deaths in the state with effect from June 1, 2026, in order to enhance data accuracy, reliability and real-time reporting, as well as to curb fraudulent practices in registration.
Accordingly, all registrations of births and deaths will be carried out through the designated CRS ORGI portal.
The department further informed that manual registration of births and deaths will be discontinued across the state with effect from May 31, 2026.
The notification supersedes Notification No. ES/RBD/1-146/2013 VOL-II/1252 dated January 22, 2025.
