Nagaland has received special recognition at the Global Food Regulators Summit 2024, held from 19th to 21st September at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The state was honored for its outstanding performance across various parameters in the State Food Safety Index 2023-24, making it the sole awardee among the North Eastern Hilly States.
The State Food Safety Index evaluates states and union territories based on five crucial parameters: Human Resources and Institutional Data, Compliance, Food Testing Infrastructure and Surveillance, Training & Capacity Building, and Consumer Empowerment & FSSAI Initiatives.
This dynamic benchmarking model provides both quantitative and qualitative insights, offering an objective assessment of food safety standards nationwide.
