According to a press release by NU PRO Peter Ki, altmetrics are a set of metrics used to measure the broader impact of research and scholarly work online, offering an alternative to traditional citation-based metrics. They help researchers track how their work is being discussed, shared, and engaged with by the public, academics, and other audiences through social media, news outlets, blogs, and other online platforms.

The workshop was attended by Prof  Dipak Sinha, Director of IQAC, as well as Heads of Departments, faculty, staff, and students.
