Nagaland University is hosting the 6th International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Machine Learning, organised by the School of Engineering and Technology, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema. The conference commenced on February 24, 2026, and will conclude on February 25. The inaugural programme was chaired by Er. Bendanchila Longkumer, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
Prof. Jagadish K. Patnaik, Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University, who was the chief guest, delivered a recorded video message. He congratulated the organisers for hosting the conference and encouraged them to organise more such academic events in the future.
Prof. Sujata Dash, Programme Chair, delivered the welcome address and highlighted key details of the conference. Prof. N. Venuh, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema, appreciated the School of Engineering and Technology for organising the international conference. Prof. (Dr.) A. Elayaperumal, Director, NIT Nagaland, spoke on the importance of ethics in artificial intelligence and the responsible use of AI.
Dr. Soumya Prakash Otta, Jurisdictional Director, STPI Guwahati; Er. Sabou Yashu, Department of IT, Government of Nagaland; and Dr. Soumya Chakraborty, Director, NIMSR, also addressed the gathering.
Prof. Sachinandan Mohanty, General Co-Chair, said the sixth edition of ICISML received over 1,000 paper submissions, of which 249 papers were accepted. He added that the selected papers will be published in SCI- and Scopus-indexed JOVE and PES journals, as well as in Scopus-indexed AIP proceedings.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Er. Ayangla Jamir, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
