The Students Placement Cell of Nagaland University, Medziphema Campus, organised a Mental Well-being Workshop and One-to-One Counselling Session on September 3 to promote mental and emotional well-being among students and encourage a supportive campus environment.

The morning workshop at the Multipurpose Hall was conducted by counselling psychologist Janthunglo Ngullie for students under the Deeksharambh Programme. It covered mental well-being, stress management, academic and personal pressures, healthy relationships and support systems. The session also addressed misconceptions about mental health and encouraged students to reflect on their experiences and seek appropriate support.

Students actively participated in discussions, reflective activities and an anonymous question-and-answer session. Participants described the workshop as beneficial and an eye-opener.

The afternoon counselling session at the Students Placement Office was open to students, faculty and staff, providing confidential individual guidance and support.

The programme was led by Students Placement Officer Dr Mary N. Odyuo, while Assistant Students Placement Officer Dr S. Pavan supervised the session. The university said the initiative reaffirmed its commitment to holistic student development and a caring, healthier campus environment.
