Mokokchung, 6 September (MTNews): Nagaland University, Headquarters: Lumami on Wednesday along with all of its four campuses celebrated 30th Foundation Day of Nagaland University. Chancellor Dr Samudra Gupta Kashyap graced the occasion and delivered the Foundation Day address while Vice Chancellor Prof. Jagadish Kumar Patnaik addressed the audience and gave some inspirational words to the students and motivated the staff for betterment of University to raise its level up to the excellence.
On behalf of teaching fraternity Prof. Dipak Sinha welcomed the newly appointed Chancellor whereas Johnny Yanthan expressed his gratitude on behalf of Non-Teaching Staff. Proper arrangements were made by the University Administration for this program in all the four campuses of Nagaland University. Faculties, staffs and students of the university took part in this program enthusiastically.
There was a moment of appreciation through token of awards given to distinguished persons among Teaching and Non-Teaching staffs for their outstanding performance.
The program concluded with vote of thanks by N Albert Khizho (Registrar i/c) while the program was finally wrapped with the words of Chairperson of the Program, Neizo Puro.
NU: SAS celebrates 30th Foundation Day of Nagaland University
The School of Agricultural Sciences, Medziphema Campus, celebrated the 30th Foundation Day of Nagaland University on Wednesday with Rev. Dr. Chingmak Chang, Founder & Secretary of Eleutheros Christian Society, as the Foundation Day Speaker on the topic: “Embracing a purposeful life.” An entrepreneur, a philanthropist and a man who loves to serve humanity, Chang has been working hand in hand with the tribal communities in the remotest parts of Nagaland since 1990’s.
The program commenced with hoisting of Nagaland University flag by the foundation day speaker, Rev. Dr. Chingmak Chang.
In his speech, he exhorted the congregation to have a purpose-driven life as it provides a deep sense of fulfillment that goes beyond professional achievement. He stated that when we are doing the right thing, committed to the cause and stand strongly in what we are doing, even God stands with us.
“People may or may not acknowledge but as long as we know the purpose that we are called for, we should keep doing it,” he said. He said that a person with purpose enjoys the journey, hardships and the struggles even if there is nothing on the other side. He concluded by saying that a life which is purpose-driven should have a sense of dependability, integrity, open mindedness, flexibility, patience and accountability.
The program began with an invocation prayer by the Vice President, EU, NU:SAS and the welcome address was given by Prof. L Daiho, Dean. NU:SAS. Prof. Akali Sema, Pro Vice Chancellor, NU:SAS, gave an account on Nagaland University and its journey through 30 years of existence.
A special number rendered by NUNTSA-M enthralled the gathering. Brief remarks were also made by President of NUTA-M, NUNTSA-M & SU:SAS, NU.
In commemoration of this occasion, award distribution was given to winners of the competition held during the observation of Anti-Ragging week w.e.f 12th- 18th August 2023 under the different categories viz. skit, painting and essay writing. Winners were awarded cash prize along with certificates, while all participants were felicitated with certificates. Also, in the yearlong competition held for cleanliness maintenance amongst the Girls and Boys Hostel which was adjudicated by the Associate Dean, Student Welfare in charge Prof. Pauline Alila and the wardens of the ten hostels, Azalea PG Girl’s Hostel and Saramati UG Boy’s Hostel were declared as the winners.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Section Officer (Finance), NU:SAS. The compere of the program was Dr. Waluniba, Asst. Prof. Dept. of Entomology.
