Prof. Joginder Singh Panwar from the Department of Botany, Nagaland University, was recently conferred the prestigious Prof. P. C. Trivedi Medal for Editorial Excellence 2025 by the Indian Botanical Society (IBS). The award was presented at the 48th All India Botanical Conference held at North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, from October 29 to 31, 2025.

The citation recognised his contributions as an author, editor, and researcher in the field of plant–microbe interactions. He has edited 31 books published by major international academic publishers such as Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis Group, and John Wiley & Sons, focusing on practical applications and technological developments that translate microbial science into real-world environmental and agricultural solutions. He is also an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Environmental Science (Toxicology, Pollution and the Environment), a position he has held since 2020.

Prof. Panwar’s significant contributions in the area of plant–microbe interactions include 266 research and review articles published in peer-reviewed journals and 125 authored or co-authored book chapters. He holds eight published and four granted patents and has supervised fifteen Ph.D. scholars. His international recognition includes being listed among the “World Ranking of Top 2% Scientists,” a database released by Stanford University, USA, and Elsevier, for three consecutive years from 2023 to 2025.
