Shisak Sharma, a doctoral student in the Department of Chemistry at Nagaland University (Lumami), achieved major recognition at the International Conference on Innovations in Nanomaterials, Nano Devices & Smart Technologies (INNOST NANO 2025). The conference was jointly organized by SGT University, Gurugram, and Research Wheel Publishers from November 12–14, 2025.

Sharma was awarded the prestigious “Overall Best Performance” of the conference, which included a cash prize, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the scientific sessions.

In addition to the top honor, he also received the “Best Paper Presentation” in the technical session and was conferred the Research Excellence Award.

The Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University, Prof. J.K. Patnaik, congratulated Sharma on the remarkable achievement, noting that he had brought laurels to the university. Prof. Ambrish Singh, Head of the Department of Chemistry, also commended the scholar for his outstanding performance on an international platform.

Sharma is currently pursuing his Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Dipak Sinha at Nagaland University. His award-winning presentation focused on next-generation photocatalysts for advanced water purification, underscoring the university’s contribution to cutting-edge environmental research.

INNOST NANO 2025 aims to serve as a premier global platform for scientists, academicians, industry experts, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and young researchers to share knowledge and explore frontier research in nanoscience, nanotechnology, and smart material innovations, engage in interactive discussions on emerging technologies shaping society, the economy, and the environment, and foster strong industry–academia collaborations.

The conference featured 33 technical sessions with over 300 participants presenting their research.
