Two students from Nagaland University have successfully completed the prestigious Hiroshima Orizuru Fellowship Summer Course on Peace and Sustainability in Japan, supported by the Sasakawa Peace Foundation.
Repakaba Tzüdir, a PhD scholar from the Department of Sociology, and Impolong Changkiri, a postgraduate student from the Department of Psychology, were selected to represent the university at the international programme jointly organised by Hiroshima University, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation and Columbia University. The 10-day fellowship was held from July 28 to August 6 at Hiroshima University’s Higashi-Hiroshima Campus.
The programme, themed “Clinic on Conflict and Collaboration in Natural Resource Management: Advancing Positive Peace and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” brought together young researchers from different countries for interdisciplinary learning, policy dialogue, field research and academic collaboration.
During the fellowship, the students attended expert lectures, workshops and field visits focused on environmental conflicts, peacebuilding and sustainable resource management.
Nagaland University said the successful completion of the fellowship reflects its growing commitment to academic excellence, international collaboration and global engagement while providing scholars with valuable exposure to interdisciplinary research and practical approaches to sustainable development.
