Lumami, 16 November (MTNews): The Nagaland University Headquarters at Lumami recently buzzed with cultural fervor as the institution hosted the Tribal Stalls and Cuisines Showcase Competition under the aegis of the Bharat Bhasha Utsav-2023 program, directed by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The event aimed to celebrate and promote indigenous cultures, inviting students and research scholars to craft and display breathtaking tribal stalls.
Organizing Secretary Ashish Kumar has informed that the inaugural program of the Tribal Stalls and Cuisines Showcase Competition, part of the Bharat Bhasha Utsav-2023 at Nagaland University, Lumami, witnessed a distinguished gathering of academic luminaries, administrative heads, and esteemed faculty members. The inaugural ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Vice Chancellor Prof Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, who applauded the participants for their efforts in preserving and celebrating the country’s diverse tribal heritage.
Dr Abemo Registrar, along with the Deans of Schools, Heads of Departments, and dedicated Officers and Employees also attended the event.
Prof Athungo Ovung, Chairman of the organizing committee, extended a warm welcome. Prof Ashutosh Tripathi, in a gracious gesture, delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all contributors and participants for their invaluable role in making the event a grand success.
The judging panel, comprising Prof Wangshimenla (Dean, Student Welfare) and Angunuo Khieya (Deputy Registrar, Finance), lent their expertise, ensuring fairness and expertise in assessing the splendid displays presented by the participants. Finance Officer N Albert Khizho, in a gesture of recognition for the outstanding exhibits, awarded the competition winners, acknowledging their dedication and ingenuity in representing the vibrant tribal culture.
