Nagaland shooters delivered an impressive performance at the 12th North East Zone Shooting Championship 2025, organized by the Mizoram Rifle Association (MRA) under the aegis of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI). The championship was held from September 8 to 13 at the MRA Shooting Gallery, Mualpui, Aizawl, Mizoram.
A total of 12 shooters from Nagaland, including four women and eight men, took part in the event. The state’s contingent secured six gold medals and four silver medals, marking a significant achievement for Nagaland in the regional competition.
In the overall medal tally, host state Mizoram emerged as the champion with 27 gold medals. Meghalaya followed with 24 golds, while Assam stood third with 17. Nagaland placed fourth with its six gold medals, ahead of the Assam Rifle Marksmanship Unit (ARMU) with five, Manipur with four, the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU) with two, and Arunachal Pradesh with one.
