The Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) has expressed its disappointment over what it describes as a “constant smear campaign” by Bobby Panicker against the leadership of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC). In a statement issued by Keviptreo K Kuotsu, Working President of the NPYC, the organization criticized Panicker for spreading “unending half-truths and whole lies,” and accused him of misleading the public.

Despite being expelled from the Congress party on January 27, 2024, according to Kuotsu, Panicker has made “relentless attempts to mislead the people through media” and, therefore, need to be exposed and show how he has been exploiting the good nature of our Naga people for decades.

The NPYC clarified that Panicker is not a founding member of the Congress party in Nagaland nor of the North East Congress Coordination Committee (NECCC), as he has claimed. According to the NPYC, Panicker’s involvement with the party has been marked by opportunistic behavior, as “he has left the Congress party twice and rejoined later in accordance with his opportunistic politics.”

The NPYC further alleged that Panicker has a history of leveling wild allegations against leaders with whom he disagrees. The statement notes that even the All-India Congress Committee (AICC) are now “totally fed up with him” and therefore refused to revoke his expulsion made by NPCC.

The NPYC also raised questions about the financial dealings during Panicker’s time in the party, noting that only Panicker and NPCC president K Therie know how much AICC funds were provided during elections. However, the NPYC claimed that “rampant mismanagement of the party organization and funds is evident by the nil results during their time.”

In a scathing remark, the NPYC said Panicker “should remember that while pointing fingers at others, his three fingers are pointed back at him.” The statement hinted at suspicions surrounding Panicker’s personal wealth, questioning how “a person who came to Nagaland as a low-ranked constable in the IB and left the service after a few years has managed to amass such a huge wealth beyond the imagination of common people.”

The NPYC asked Panicker to not test the patience of the party workers by indulging in his fantasy and hurling wild allegations against party leaders.

The NPYC warned that if Panicker continues to make false accusations, the party would take direct action, including “picketing of his luxurious properties” and making his alleged misconduct public. The organization also urged individuals supporting Panicker to “cease their activities immediately.”
