Kohima, June 10 (MTNews): Kohima Law College launched the first Pro Bono Club in Nagaland under the Ministry of Justice & Law, Govt. of India on 10th June 2022 at its Conference Hall.

 

Workshop on Legal Literacy vis-a-vis Social Justice was conducted together with official launching of the Pro Bono Club. The program was moderated by David Shiu, faculty coordinator (Pro Bono Club) while the Pro Bono Club was officially launched by the principal Soni.

 

 

The resource persons were Asst. Professor Kezhokhoto Savi on the topic – “Right to Information Act, 2005” and Ms. Neiteo Koza, state coordinator HRLN spoke on Public Interest Litigation (PIL) and Human Rights.

 

 

About 150 law students actively participated in the program where several questions were put up by them and the students were also given legal assignments as part of Pro Bono Club projects in helping the general public, especially the weaker sections.
