In a landmark initiative to enhance healthcare access for the Naga community in Bengaluru, the Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bangalore Baptist Hospital (BBH), one of the city’s leading not-for-profit medical institutions.

Nagas in Bengaluru to receive up to 30% concession at BBH through NSUB MoU
The MoU, signed on September 30, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. at Bangalore Baptist Hospital, ensures that Nagas residing in Bangalore can now avail concessions on inpatient, outpatient, and other healthcare services of up to 30% at BBH. In addition, Nagas from special or economically challenged backgrounds will be considered for higher concessions.

The agreement was formally signed between Dr. Spurgeon R, Director and CEO of Bangalore Baptist Hospital, and Ms. Nungsangmongla Ozukum, President of Naga Students’ Union Bangalore, in the presence of Mr. Davidson D (Sr. Associate – Operations and Service Promotion, BBH), Ms. Onenlemla Imsong (Chaplain, BBH), Mr. Tsivyo Kasom (Advisor, NSUB), and NSUB’s sub-unit representative from the Ao community.

NSUB expressed deep appreciation to Ms. Onenlemla Imsong, Chaplain at BBH, whose tireless efforts in identifying and assisting economically challenged patients paved the way for this partnership. The Union also acknowledged the dedicated leadership of Ms. Nungsangmongla Ozukum, whose commitment has guided NSUB in achieving this milestone for the welfare of the Naga community.

Speaking on the occasion, NSUB leaders emphasized that this collaboration is more than a healthcare discount—it is a lifeline for many Nagas in Bengaluru who face challenges in accessing affordable, quality medical care. The Union encourages all Nagas in the city to familiarize themselves with the services offered by BBH and to share this information within their respective communities so that maximum benefit may be derived from the agreement.

With this MoU, NSUB reaffirms its mission to support the well-being of Nagas living outside their home state and to strengthen the spirit of unity and care among the Naga diaspora.
