The Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA), under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), will conduct the third quarterly National Lok Adalat at all district headquarters on September 12.
In a press release, the NSLSA said 11 Lok Adalat benches will be set up at District Court premises by the respective District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs).
The National Lok Adalat provides an alternative dispute resolution mechanism for settling cases pending before courts as well as disputes at the pre-litigation stage. Cases are settled or compromised through the process in a speedy and amicable manner, with no cost to the parties.
The NSLSA invited persons having civil, matrimonial, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) and petty offence cases, including both pending and pre-litigation matters, to approach the DLSA front offices at the District Court buildings or the NSLSA Member Secretary’s Office at the DC Office Compound.

The NSLSA said the disposal data from each DLSA would subsequently be uploaded on its web portal.
During the second quarterly National Lok Adalat held on May 9, 402 cases were taken up, of which 220 were disposed of, involving a total settlement amount of Rs 3,66,21,476.
