Mokokchung, June 21 (MTNews): Nagaland University Lumami organized a one day National Seminar, on 20th June 2022, on Yoga and Human Well-being: Emerging Perspectives. The financial assistance to the seminar by was provided by Inter University Centre for Yogic Science , Government of India.

 

 

During the inaugural session the keynote speaker was Honourable VC, Prof Pardeshi Lal, NU Lumami. Prof Lal spoke on the brain functioning and how the yogic discipline and practice can help in stimulating mental functioning, neural system, brain parts and overall intellectual capabilities.

 

The chairman of organizing committee was Prof M K Sinha, Dean of Social Sciences. He gave the opening remarks and contextualized the recent engagement with Yoga beyond physical exercise and as a cultural lifestyle.

 

The National Seminar was divided into two technical sessions. First focused on the philosophical dimensions of Yoga and it’s contribution to world in contemporary times. Presenters were from Central University of Himachal, faculties from State University and colleges of UP and Bihar.

 

The second session was on specific practical aspects of Yoga in relation to health, pregnancy, gender minority stress and nervous system. Several faculties and students from NU, KV Lumami teaching and non teaching staff and students joined the National Seminar.
