National Vaccination Day was observed at Chief Medical Officer Conference Hall, Mokokchung on 16 March 2022.

 

The programme was chaired by Dr. Ayangla Saku, DPO (UIP&RCH), who congratulated the best performing the ANMs & ASHAs and briefed about the significance of observing the National vaccination day.

 

Welcome address was delivered by Dr.Aonungdok, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, who appraised the hard work of the Scientist responsible for the vaccines available till date, the Nurses, ASHAs and the beneficiaries.

 

Selected ANMs and ASHAs shared their experience in vaccination during the pandemic. They shared their experiences on the reluctance of the community for any vaccination and the important role played by ASHAs in educating the community.

 

Dr.R.Chubala Aier, Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung in her speech stated on the importance of vaccines and their role in benefiting our lifes, and National Vaccination day is observed to create awareness regarding how effective vaccination is to prevent deadly diseases and its significance in highlighting the need to get vaccinated. She encouraged the ANMs & ASHAs to further extend their hard work in making the community aware of the facilities provided by the government and the work ahead because of the impending treat of the pandemic.

 

Best performing 6 ANMs and 12 ASHAs were felicitated during the programme.
