Mokokchung, January 25 (MTNews): A program was held to mark the National Voters Day at DC’s Conference Hall, Mokokchung with Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh IAS as the Special Guest.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner said it was the day of celebration for all the voters with special emphasis on PwD voters and newly enrolled young voters. He also called upon the BLO/Supervisors and all stakeholders to make the E-roll clean and transparent to increase the qualitative aspects of election conduct in the district.
He also dwelt on the issue of benchmarking PwD voters and special provisions on accessibility to voting facilities in the polling station. He also called upon every voter to vote with conviction without any impudence.
Earlier in the program, a welcome address was delivered by Addl Deputy Commissioner & ERO Mokokchung, Chumlamo Humtsoe. A special song was sung by Supongsangla Jamir, PwD ICON Mokokchung and a short speech was delivered by Imkongnungchet Kichu, president, Mokokchung Disabled Forum.
The program was chaired by Renben Mozhui, Assistant Election Officer, Mokokchung while vote of thanks was proposed by Zerutso Kesizie EAC, Mokokchung.
On the occasion, Best BLO Award was presented to the Awardees, newly enrolled voters were felicitated and administration of voters’ pledge was taken by ADC & ERO Mokokchung.
