THE NAGALAND BAPTIST CHURCH COUNCIL CALLS FOR 12 HOURS OF FASTING AND PRAYER
The Nagaland Baptist Church Council calls for 12 hours of prayer and fasting on April 30, Saturday from 6:00am to 6:00pm. It calls for its constituent churches and members to humble themselves before God and to seek His face on behalf of our people. May we use this day to lament our distress and unworthiness before the Lord, confess our sins, repent and commit ourselves afresh to the service of the Lord our God. Please join with believers across the State in asking God to open minds and hearts, to have mercy upon our people, and for His guidance, wisdom and provision regarding the whole context and our response as Christians.
1. Prayer for the unity of the Body of Christ and the leadership of the church.
2. Prayer for the head of our government, the leaders and the policies which will honor God and bring peace and create confidence in the mind of the people.
3. Pray for the different political parties in the State for unity of purpose.
4. Pray for the protracted Naga political issue and the leadership.
5. Pray for the leadership of Tribal Hohos, Civil Societies and student organizations.
6. Pray for the up-coming Election in 2023 and the Clean Election Movement.
7. Pray for our missionaries who have gone out of their comfort zone as our representative.
8. Pray for the persecuted church and the Christian minority who are often marginalized.
9. Pray for our school going children whose lives have been interrupted for the last two years and are now getting back to normal.
10. Pray for the teachers that they will be sincere in nurturing our children for their future.
11. Pray for our young people.
12. Pray for the SESQUICENTENNIAL (150 years of Christianity) celebration in Nagaland this year.
13. Prayer for the Association leadership, local church leadership and village leadership.
14. Pray for our farmers as they are in the season of sowing and plantation.
15. Pray for the healing of our State.
16. Pray for world peace.
17. Pray for Russia and Ukraine. Pray for the suffering especially children and women. Pray that peace will be established soon in the region.
18. Pray that God will be merciful and bring revival in our churches.
You may add more prayer points and churches can arrange the logistics on how to carry out the fasting and prayer day.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14).
May we use this 12 hours of fasting and prayer to intercede for each other, for our land, our leaders and our people. The NBCC requests everyone to honor this day so that God will listen to our plea and will rain His blessings to our land.
