Nagaland Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board regional headquarters was dedicated and established on 27 May at Penli Ward, Mokokchung. The dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Rev. Wati, Pastor, UCF, Mokokchung.

 

Chairman NBOCWWB, Dr. Kekhrie Yhome, gave the chairman’s address where he said that Mokokchung has been “a father and an elder brother” to many of the districts. “Many a time, it becomes difficult to work because of our topography and geography; therefore, setting up a regional headquarters would help the people in getting better access to various facilities and schemes,” he said.

 

He thanked the government for putting the effort in establishing the regional headquarters and said, “as a government establishment, it is our duty to our building and construction workers to avail every facility that is available. We will helpcreate opportunities for them, help ease lives of the people.”

 

“Our mandate is to look after not just the people of Nagaland but all over India,” he further added.

 

The Administrative Remark at the program was made by Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh, IAS while the welcome address was delivered by Imtipokyim, general secretary, Ao Senden, earlier at the event.

 

Chairman of the program, T. Chubayanger, Chief Executive Officer, NBOCWWB said that the NBOCWWB was constituted in 2011 and started functioning from 2013 and it is the first scheme in the state to become 100% DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). He also said that the regional headquarters in Mokokchung will be the nerve center for five other neighboring districts which includes Longleng, Zunheboto, Tuensang, Noklak, and Shamator.
