Mokokchung, March 22 (MTNews): Nagaland Board of School Education has informed all the Heads of Registered Institutions about the revised rules relating to students with disabilities.
It stated that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 envisages Equitable and Inclusive Education- Learning for All. It reaffirms that bridging social category gaps in access, participation, and learning outcomes in school education must be a major goal of all education sector development programmes. NEP 2020 also reaffirms the provisions contained in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 in regard to students with disabilities.

 

NBSE has reviewed and made suitable modifications in the curriculum and examination system to meet the needs of students with disabilities in line with the above mandates. The Board has taken feedback from various stakeholders of the state and the revised rules have the approval of the Government vide No.DSE/NBSE/15-2/2011-12/275 dated the 15th March 2022.
The revised rules are uploaded in the Board’s portal www.nbsenl.edu.in. All Heads of Registered Institutions have been requested to familiarize themselves with the revised rules and disseminate the information to the students with disabilities for seeking exemptions.

 

The revised rules will supersede earlier rules and notification, and will become applicable from the academic session 2022 i.e. Classes VIII & IX Examinations 2022 and HSLC & HSSLC Examinations 2023 onwards.
