Dimapur, 3 July (MTNews): In honor of World Plastic Bag Free Day, a group of 40 NCC Cadets from the Junior Division and Senior Wing of Livingstone Foundation International, led by Associate NCC Officer Second Officer (S/O) Kajenkala T Longchar, organized a cleanliness drive along the Sangtamtilla stretch of Dhansiri River in Dimapur on 3 July.
From 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, the NCC Cadets diligently worked to clean up plastic waste and other debris found on both banks of the Sangtamtilla stretch of Dhansiri River. The cleanliness drive aimed to promote environmental awareness and emphasize the importance of keeping water bodies clean.
The initiative was part of the Puneet Sagar Abhiyan (PSA), a week-long social service and community development campaign initiated by the National Cadet Corps (NCC). The NCC encourages cadets to actively participate in such activities to instill a sense of responsibility, discipline, and community engagement among young individuals.
