Wokha, 12 June (MTNews): The National Cadet Corps (NCC), known as the largest youth organization in the country and a feeder organization for the Uniformed Forces, is taking a step towards youth empowerment by focusing on skill development, domain-specific training, and placement assistance in collaboration with various corporate and skill development centers.

Brig PS Sangwan, Group Commander of NCC Group Kohima, made this announcement during an event at the ongoing mega NCC Camp in Wokha.

 

Brig Sangwan emphasized NCC’s efforts to partner with institutes offering training and placement assistance under initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana and other government schemes in industries such as airlines, hospitality, and more. He also highlighted the collaboration with ITC Hotels for the selection, training, and employment of NCC cadets through the “We Shield – Loss Prevention Training Program.”

 

Addressing over 520 NCC cadets who have been undergoing training at the Mega NCC Camp since 7 June, Brig Sangwan encouraged them to seize these opportunities to receive subsidized training and pave their way towards successful careers in well-paying industries. He also urged the cadets to motivate other students to join NCC and become part of the significant development that the country is witnessing during the ‘Amrit Kaal’ period.

 

Speaking to the media after the event, Brig Sangwan highlighted that Naga cadets, known for their high skill levels and discipline, are being provided with numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth through various initiatives.

 

As part of further outreach, NCC is planning to conduct a “Know Your NCC” campaign, setting up information kiosks and stalls at high footfall locations such as the “Hornbill Festival” to showcase the history, achievements, and opportunities provided by NCC. These initiatives aim to enhance the overall personality and skill sets of the youth, enabling them to build a bright future and make significant contributions to nation-building.

 

Brig Sangwan expressed his gratitude to IGAR (N), Assam Rifles for providing the premises to host the camp and to the Commanding Officer of 40 Assam Rifles for their active support in ensuring the smooth conduct of the camp. The event’s arrangements were coordinated by Col CST Swamy, the Camp Commandant, and Commanding Officer of 25 Naga Bn NCC.

 

The event was attended by more than 520 NCC cadets who have been training in the Mega NCC Camp that started on 7 June under the aegis of 25 Naga Bn NCC, Mokokchung.
