The NER Trek-II, a prestigious all-India trekking camp, commenced today at the 24 Assam Rifles Complex in Wokha, Nagaland. The eight-day camp, which will run from November 4 to 11, 2025, brings together 510 NCC cadets from Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar & Jharkhand, Odisha, and the North Eastern Region.

This historic event marks the first-ever trekking camp of its kind in Wokha, showcasing the state’s breathtaking natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. The camp aims to instill a sense of adventure, teamwork, and accomplishment among the cadets while promoting cultural exchange and national integration.
During their stay, the cadets will embark on exhilarating day hikes to iconic locations such as Mount Tiyi, Doyang Dam, and New Wokha Village, organized into four trekking groups. They will also experience the vibrant cultural diversity of Nagaland through a visit to the Mini Hornbill Festival, showcasing the state’s unique traditions and heritage.
The camp was formally flagged off today by Brig Shantanu P Mainkar, NCC Group Commander, NCC Group Kohima, who interacted with the cadets and encouraged them to make the most of this opportunity.
“This trekking camp is a fantastic platform for the cadets to challenge themselves, develop their skills, and forge lasting bonds with fellow cadets from across the country,” said Brig Mainkar. “I wish them a memorable and enriching experience in the beautiful state of Nagaland”.
The NER Trek-II is a testament to the NCC’s commitment to nurturing young leaders and promoting adventure, discipline, and camaraderie among the youth.
