Kohima, November 17 (MTNews): The Central Youth Organisation (CYO) of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) of Nagaland has expressed its “joy and gratification on the remarkable achievement” bagged by Team Nagaland at the recently concluded 2nd North East Olympic Games 2022 held in Meghalaya.
The NDPP CYO extended its heartiest congratulations to all the winners and warmly welcomed all the participants while appreciating the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) for their meritorious effort in creating more room for the many talents in all fields of sports arena.
“The exemplary performance displayed by the sports persons is truly praiseworthy thereby securing record breaking medal tally compared to the 1st edition held in Manipur 2018,” the NDPP CYO stated in a press release on Thursday.
It went on to say that Nagaland has witnessed tremendous growth and development in the sports sector at an acceleration rate under the leadership of Chief Minister and president of the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA), Neiphiu Rio. “Envisioning to empower the youths through sports, the government has launched and established several sporting facilities and infrastructure across the state with many more still underway,” it added.
It also added that Nagaland today is witnessing far reaching development in the field of sports “which is going stronger and higher with the infrastructures being emphasized within these last 3 to 4 years.”
It also mentioned that, listening to the call of students and youths for meritocracy and transparency, the first ever Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) written exam was conducted successfully. “The recently held NSSB exam may be noted as a citable addition to the vision embarked by the CM for the unemployed youths in the state while the NDPP CYO is confident that all means of transparency will be maintained in the selection of the eligible candidates by way of meritocracy,” it remarked.
