The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) congratulated the organizers of the first Nagaland Super League (NSL) for successfully conducting the tournament, which began on January 28 and concluded on April 1.

In a press release, the NDPP stated that successfully organizing and conducting such a high-caliber tournament— a first for Nagaland —was a daunting and challenging task that would not have been possible without the support received from all corners of the State. It also noted that the consistency and momentum maintained throughout the period of the tournament has been the driving force behind the successful conduct of the NSL.

The NDPP expressed confidence that organizing such events across the State will help harness the vast sporting talent among young people and provide another avenue for employment generation.

It stated that the NSL witnessed the rise of many new football talents and the emergence of several new clubs competing against established teams, with the final itself serving as a testament to this development.

The NDPP congratulated Barak Football Club (BFC), one of the oldest football clubs in Nagaland, for emerging as the ultimate winners, and Longterok Football Club (LFC), one of the newest clubs, for finishing as runners-up.

It also extended congratulations to the Chief Minister, the Government of Nagaland, the Nagaland Olympic Association, the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, the Nagaland Football Association, all sponsors, clubs, and their respective management teams. The NDPP expressed confidence that the next edition of the NSL will see double the number of participating clubs.

Additionally, the NDPP appreciated all the fans and supporters of the NSL and the teams across the State.

“It is our hope that the fan base continues to grow, inspiring more young players to step forward, participate, and excel,” it stated.

The NDPP also extended its best wishes for the future of the NSL and expressed its hope that the league will grow into one of the biggest football events, attracting national and international clubs.
