In a significant development, senior Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) leaders including NDPP Working President and Co-Founder of the party Alemtemshi Jamir, sitting MLA of NDPP Imkong L Imchen, NDPP Advisor TN Mannen and several other senior party leaders have decided to join BJP.
Sources informed this newspaper that a meeting between the NDPP leaders and the BJP party was held at Niathu Resort Chumoukedima on January 5, 2023 and they formally agreed to join the saffron party.
The meeting was held in the presence of BJP National Secretary Rituraj Sinha and a day ahead of Amit Shah’s visit to Nagaland.
