TN Mannen urges unity, grassroots focus and youth engagement

The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Mokokchung Region, held its installation program for newly elected office bearers for the 2025–2027 tenure today at the Sangtemla Ward Multi-Purpose Hall.

The program witnessed the formal oath-taking ceremony administered by N Bendang Jamir, Working President of NDPP Nagaland. The new team includes members from the Region Office as well as leaders of the Women Organization, Youth Organization, and Agri & Allied Organization.

In his keynote address, TN Mannen, MLA and Advisor for Law & Justice and Land Revenue, acknowledged the contributions of former party leaders in shaping the NDPP to its present stature. “Petty jealousy should not drag down the party,” Mannen cautioned, urging the members to move forward with unity and determination. “It is with unity that the party will achieve greater heights in the days to come,” he added.

Calling it a privilege to be part of the state’s largest ruling party under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and party president Chingwang Konyak, Mannen also reminded the gathering that “we should not avoid other political parties, especially our alliance partner, since this is an oppositionless government.”

He encouraged the new team to embrace challenges and to be mentally prepared for change. “It is the maturity of the leadership that will determine our future,” he said.

Highlighting that Nagaland is a youthful society, Mannen stressed the need to turn youth into an asset for the party and the state. “The new team should concentrate on new approaches, new challenges and new horizons in order to make the party grow stronger with focus on the grassroots,” he said.

Earlier in the program, Mangyangnungba, President of NDPP Mokokchung Region, delivered the presidential address, while acceptance speeches were given by the newly elected presidents of all frontal organizations.

The new region team will be led by Repameren. Margaret will head the Women Organization, N Akok Lkr will lead the Youth Organization, and Repamangyang will serve as the President of the Agri & Allied Organization.

Imkongchuba, Chairperson of Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC), also delivered an exhortation during the program.
